Will Sturgis grew up in Brewster, New York, and received his BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004. In Chicago, he printed for White Wings Press, The Bird Machine, and most recently, Will worked as Master Printer for Tony Fitzpatrick's Black Shamrock Etchings.
In his artwork, Will draws inspiration from the many characters he meets, both real and imagined, and from the overwhelming experience of starting a family. People, animals, and monsters alike evoke satire, romance, humor, and a touch of melancholy. Currently Will lives deep in the woods of Western Massachusetts with his wife and two young sons.
